At the Rocky Mountain District's FALL 2011 Contest, held in Colorado Springs, CO, on October 8th, we were able to increase our score to ABOVE 70 points (actually: 70.9), which was our goal for the year. As luck would have it, our competing chorus' scores also increased, but we maintained our 5th place position amid some very strong competition Our chorus continues to grow, however, we had only 38 men on Stage singing at the Contest this year, probably due to the traveling required to get to Colodrado Springs.

The UP-TUNE in Our CONTEST SET for 2011 was called BRING BACK THOSE GOOD OLD DAYS, a medley of Good Old Days and I Want a Girl. This arrangement was originally recorded by BOSTON COMMON, who won the 1980 Quartet Gold Medal at the International Conventiion, held right here in Salt Lake City. They in turn attributed the arrangement to the FOUR RASCALS, a Silver-Medalist quartet from the 1960's.

Our BALLAD was an old time favorite: I'LL BE SEEING YOU. Written in 1938 by Irving Fain and Sammy Cain, the song became popular in 1944 when it appeared 24 times on radio's Your Hit Parade. This arrangement was made by Eric Jackson, a well known Barbershopper, and Rob Hopkins, a notable Society arranger, for the ALEXANDRA HARMONIZERS, whose exceptional performance of the song helped them win the 1995 Chorus Gold Medal (their third time) at the International Convention held in Miami, FL.
